I am Şenol Onay, born in 1965 in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ. I have translated three of my seven books published in Turkey into English, all three of which are satirical novels. I am looking for a publisher.
Let me tell you about myself. I'm single. I've always wanted to move abroad since my freshman year at Kuleli Military High School. I didn't even marry the girl I fell in love with so I could leave immediately when the opportunity arose. I voluntarily left the armed forces in my third year as a captain. I first worked as a professional stock market analyst, then chose to become an author. I love sports, the stock market, chess, snooker, bodybuilding, and music. I adore animals and children. I'm a universal humanist.
I'm a word inventor; I invented the titles of six of my seven books; anyone who hears them smiles and can understand their meaning. I've invented more than a thousand words not even in the Turkish Language Association Dictionary, and more than a hundred are rootless.
Let me give you a brief overview of my books: I invented the word "Commander General." I added a syllable to the word "General," the highest rank, suggesting contempt. It became a striking and humorous name. The hero, Ekrem Cesur, is very intelligent, talented, and successful in school, a leading athlete. He then enters military high school, retires with the rank of captain, becomes the prime minister's personal bodyguard in civilian life, performs wonders on the stock market, develops an interest in literature, and can't find a publisher in Turkey. He matches a chess tournament final with Margaret, a tourist and a British chemical engineer. He falls in love with her, they marry, live in England, and Ekrem Cesur becomes a world-renowned author under the name George Rummell.
Gazi and Niyazi are the comic adventures of twin brothers. Gazi means veteran, Niyazi means one who died in vain. The national team's center forward, Metin, and staff captain Çetin encounter setbacks before the championship match. As a result of these oddities, the football player joins the military unit, and the captain joins the team's training camp for the weekend's match. This novel humorously portrays the difficulties the twin brothers face in matters they never fully understand.
The hero of my third novel, Errorist, is Anıl, a highly skilled con artist. Remzi, a notorious fraudster from the past, becomes his mentor and manager. Anıl's journalist girlfriend, a girl who is a medical doctor, a mathematics professor, a retired officer, and a Nicaraguan living in Turkey are members of the Errorism gang. They amass a tremendous fortune through their scams, and Anıl eventually achieves a miraculous position. I won't be writing that; If you're interested, I can email the book.
I designed the covers of all my books, I had them drawn by famous cartoonists, since all the rights belong to me, I can have someone else draw the covers for the English edition, each one is very striking, everyone who looks at it smiles.
