What is the worst thing?

I can't think of anything worse than becoming famous. My books were published, I was besieged by the lowest depths of the low, they thought I was going to become a popular author, they didn't realize that those in power would try to stop me. Every opportunist and dimwit contacted me, ugly, penniless women proposed marriage to me.
