All Turkish teams were eliminated in the European Cup qualifying rounds, and Turkey failed to win a gold medal in the last Olympics. Hundreds of foreign athletes are being transferred, some are being drafted into the Turkish national team, and resources intended for public service are being squandered. Some profiteer while citizens suffer. Taxes are constantly rising, inflation, a hidden tax, is rising, and even after seven years of devaluation, the lira hasn't recovered. The economic disaster is affecting every field, including sports.
